An experienced TIG Welder with expertise in working with stainless steel, aluminium/ aluminium bronze.
You will work as part of a small team within the welding of small aircraft components to ensure assembly parts are completed to the required quality.
Key Responsibilities:
Following are a list of the main and most important duties and responsibilities.These are not exhaustive and you will be required to have a flexible approach as you may be requested to assist/carry out other tasks and duties in other areas as and when the need arises.
·Set and operate TIG Welding Equipment, previous experience as a TIG Welder will be essential
· TIG Welding a variety of aluminium, stainless and mild steel parts, and sub-assemblies and required to purge weld to a standard set by the company
·Weld components using manual or CNC welding equipment in various positions
· Perform brazing of high temperature silver / low temperature brass work
·Work with little supervision
·Keep a clean and tidy work environment
·Weld parts using a jig or freehand
·Complete ancillary operations to processed parts using electrical or manual tools (hand grinders / polishing tools, etc), fettling, deburring, polishing, etc as required
·Read, understand, and work to tolerances on engineering drawings with symbols
·Measure, and inspect products within the given timeframe
·Produce the required batch of components, ensuring that all the components within the batch comply with the specifications
·Log data of production operations to the company platform
·Experience working within a Quality Management System and an awareness of any environmental impacts
You will be reporting directly to the Shop Foreman and Business Operations Manager
An engineering apprenticeship would be advantageous with a keen interest to learn welding.Full training will be provided by our in-house Skilled Welders.A bench test will be required at interview
This is a permanent position working a 39-hr week working on our Double day Rotational shift patterns/alternating on a weekly basis
Salary is dependant upon experience and capability, plus 20% Shift allowance will apply:
Early shift: Monday to Thursday: 06.00 am - 14.00 pm/Friday: 06.00 am – 13.00 pm
Late shift: Monday to Thursday: 14.00 pm – 22.15 pm/Friday: 13.00 pm – 19.00 pm
