Where will you be working?
We help our clients safeguard the water supply, improve environmental performance, and manage demand for future generations. We enhance and extend asset life, ensuring compliance with water quality and environmental standards. We’re problem solvers with over 140 years of combined experience in engineering and infrastructure.
This role will be within our MEICA and capital maintenance team. Our Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Control & Automation (MEICA) experts offer a one-stop solution, including ongoing operation and maintenance services.
This role will be within our IOS Framework for Anglian Water, supporting the operations and completing remedial works over the Essex, Suffolk, and Cambridge Area.

What will you be doing?
This 36-month programme will develop your practical, technical, and soft skills, with Health & Safety at the core. On successful completion, you will gain a Construction Quantity Surveying Technician Level 4 qualification and a long-term career with M Group Water.
As our Apprentice QS, you’ll support the commercial aspects of the project, assisting project management and on-site delivery teams, ensuring delivery while controlling costs, maximizing value, and maintaining quality and safety standards.
Key responsibilities:
* Assist senior managers in compiling monthly commercial reports.
* Help collate accurate site records to understand cost commitments.
* Maintain records for audits and cost assurance.
* Conduct regular site visits to ensure accurate measurement of works and identify opportunities.
* Assist with procurement and valuation of subcontract packages.
* Ensure timely contractual payments to supply chain partners.
* Provide reports on actual costs vs. estimates, highlighting variances.
* Champion health and safety standards on site.
What you’ll bring
* Valid UK driving license.
* At least 4 GCSEs at Grades 4-9/A-C including Maths, English, and Science or equivalent.
* A BTEC Extended Diploma, Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship, or two A levels in relevant subjects.
* Good IT skills, especially Microsoft Excel.
* Effective communication and organizational skills.
* Keen to learn and develop.
* Passionate about the industry, hardworking, reliable, with excellent attendance.
* Ability to use initiative and a ‘can do’ attitude.
