This is an ideal role for an engineer who enjoys the challenge of existing buildings, thrives on problem-solving, and is motivated by designing practical, data-driven solutions that support energy reduction and the transition to net zero. The team brings together property consultancy, design engineering and building performance expertise to provide a holistic lifecycle service for clients. You'll play a key role in delivering this offering, shaping high-quality outcomes and supporting the continued growth of the team. The Opportunity You will lead electrical design and consultancy activities across a varied portfolio of refurbishment, performance improvement and property advisory projects. You'll work directly with asset owners, landlords and project managers, taking responsibility for technical delivery, managing small/medium-scale projects, and contributing to the development of a high-performing team. Key Responsibilities Support the regional lead in planning and delivering Operational Assets work Build and maintain strong client relationships and assist in securing new work Provide technical leadership and mentoring to team members Collaborate with wider engineering teams to deliver multidisciplinary projects Undertake design, specification, survey and site monitoring activities Lead commissioning reviews and post-occupancy engineering tasks Produce technical reports including feasibility studies, condition surveys and performance reviews Contribute to recruitment, capability development and team growth You will work across three core service areas: 1. Decarbonisation & Building Performance Develop strategic and practical energy-saving measures, support clients' net zero plans, and use metering/data to drive improved building performance. 2. Design for Existing Buildings Lead electrical design across all RIBA stages, delivering innovative solutions tailored to operational, refurbishment and retrofit projects. 3. Property Consultancy Support due diligence, dilapidations, PPM strategies, LTAs, maintenance inspections, troubleshooting, EPCs and validation exercises. About You Chartered (or working toward) electrical design engineer Experience with existing buildings, refurbishments or operational assets Strong technical capability and understanding of associated disciplines Familiar with metering, data and performance-led engineering Skilled in design, performance specifications, contract administration and site duties Excellent communication, organisation and client-facing skills Proven ability to support work winning and develop team capability
