St Marys is one of the busiest Major Trauma Centres across London and has some of the highest survival rates for trauma nationally. This is through exceptional team work and a culture of collaboration. This is an exciting role within the Emergency Department at St Marys Hospital, and we are looking for a dynamic and experienced band 6 nurse to join our emergency department team to provide specialist trauma and resuscitation care to patients. There will be opportunity to develop the role, foster a culture of continuous learning and be at the forefront of trauma and resuscitative care
Main duties of the job
* Carry out planned care for a group of patients without supervision
* Ensure the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of evidence based, individualised patient care
* Assist and advise staff, both registered and unregistered in the delivery of patient care
* Maintain accurate clinical observations of the patient and act accordingly

Person specification
education
* • Post-qualification education in Emergency Nursing or equivalent experience
* • Critical Care Transfer Course
Experience
* • Demonstrable significant experience in A&E as a registered nurse
* • Experience of taking charge of the department and managing patient flow
* • Experience of working in a minor injuries unit
* • Experience in Quality Improvement
Skills
* • Significant Experience with Emergency Nursing, Critical Care or High Dependency
* • Ability to work as part of a team
* • Experience in leading a team
* • Experience in teaching small groups
* • Experience with audit and research
other requirements
* Sufficient to fulfil the duties of the post with the provision of any reasonable aids and adaptations
