Overview
We are looking to recruit a new part time Receptionist/Administrator to join our team at Melbourne Park MedicalCentre, Aspley.

Main duties of the job
The position is for 28 hours per week over 4 days Monday and Wednesday covering reception from 11:50am -7pm and Tuesday and Friday covering Administration duties from 9am -5pm.

Melbourne Park is a modern, purpose built, leased premises (completed in May 2015) which provides a pleasant, spacious and energy efficient work environment.
We are a Training Practice with 4GP Partners, 2 Salaried GPs and up to 2 GP Registrars alongside 3 Practice Nurses, 1 Health Care Assistant and a Phlebotomist.
Management Team with Administration, Secretarial and Reception support teams.
CQC rated Good.
High QQF achievers with a listsize of around 8500. Manageable workload with a low visit rate. EMIS Web Clinicalsystem with DocmanX document management software.
Access to ARRS roles, including Clinical Pharmacists, Dietitian, Social Prescribers and First Contact Physiotherapists, as part of Aspire PCN.
Job responsibilities
Reception
* At the start of the shift prepare for surgery. Pass on any messages as necessary. At the end of the day, ensure all computers and systems are switched off and ensure the security of the premises before leaving.
* Arrange patient appointments and record their arrivals on the computer system.
* Receive and note down messages given by patients, record requests for home visits both electronically. Ensure messages are appropriately passed using electronic task system, informing colleagues of any urgent messages the doctors need to see.
* Answer patient queries both in person, over the telephone and buzzer system, including results of investigations, hospital appointments and give advice on administrative matters.
* Prepare repeat prescriptions in readiness for the doctors authorisation and signature, ensuring it is sent via EPS where required. Highlight overdue medication reviews to the GP when needed.
* Work through Docman inbox and EMIS tasks and contact patients/third parties. Book any interpreters via the interpreting service when needed.
Administrative Support
* Handle incoming and outgoing correspondence, including emails and post.
* Maintain filing systems (electronic and paper-based) in an organised and accessible manner.
Data Entry & Record Keeping
* Input data into clinical systems (e.g. EMIS, Systm One) with a high level of accuracy.
* Support the team with audits, recalls and reporting tasks.
Person Specification
Experience
* Good telephone manner, caring and compassionate attitude. Knowledge of data security and confidential issues in relation to handling personal information.
* General practice experience, knowledge of EMIS/Systm One.
Qualifications
* Good standard of education
* Experience of using Word/Excel.
