Shape tomorrow's world with Amey

Amey Consulting operate in the engineering consultancy sector working primarily on providing high quality consultancy services in rail, highways, power, asset management, environmental, sustainability and geotechnical. Long relationships with clients such as National Highways and Network Rail are a testament to the fact, we're not just consultants but partners in your journey towards a more efficient, resilient, and sustainable future.

About the Team

As part of the Asset Management Transformation team, you'll work alongside experienced project managers, asset managers and business analysts to help major infrastructure clients improve how they manage their assets. You'll be embedded within client organisations, gaining hands-on experience and applying engineering knowledge to understand asset performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and support the delivery of strategic change. Our work spans sectors such as highways, rail, aviation and energy (with plans to expand into new and emerging areas).

You'll contribute to services including strategic alignment, value-based investment planning, smart inspection technologies and predictive asset intelligence. By combining ISO 55001 best practice with technical insight and business strategy, you'll help shape how clients optimise their asset management processes to deliver long-term value.

What you'll be doing

As a graduate business analyst consultant, you'll play a key role in helping clients make informed decisions about their infrastructure assets by analysing data and understanding their business needs. You'll work closely with experienced professionals to gather technical and functional requirements, translate them into practical solutions, and support the delivery of asset management strategies that improve performance and reduce costs. You'll gain hands-on experience across a range of sectors, learning how to connect engineering insight with business strategy to deliver measurable value. You will work alongside the team to:

* Engage with stakeholders to understand business needs and gather technical and functional requirements for asset management processes and systems.
* Support and facilitate workshops to map end-to-end journeys and processes, capturing detailed requirements, dependencies and improvement opportunities.
* Translate operational activities and business goals into clear, structured requirements that guide solution development.
* Use tools like Miro and Excel to visually map processes, user journeys and requirements in a way that supports collaboration and clarity.
* Analyse current processes to identify gaps, inefficiencies and areas for optimisation.
* Work closely with operational and technical teams to ensure requirements are used effectively in gap analysis, solution design and decision-making.
* Develop skills in stakeholder communication, problem-solving, and data interpretation to support project delivery.
* Learn how to apply industry standards such as ISO 55001 to align asset management practices with business strategy and risk governance.
* Contribute to a collaborative team environment, sharing ideas and learning from experienced colleagues across disciplines.
