Facilities Contract Manager – Critical Environments

This is a unique and exciting opportunity to work for one of the leading global real estate businesses. They are currently seeking an experienced FM Contract Manager to lead a highly successful team managing on-site Data Centre Operations, ensuring delivery of EXCELLENCE!
The ideal candidate would preferably have a background in Data Centres; however, solid experience within Critical Environments will also be considered. Applicants must have previous management experience, full responsibility for their own P&L, and reside within a reasonable commute to the sites.
Role Overview
1. Lead an established operations team to deliver excellence in a critical 24/7/365 operating environment for a key customer.
2. Ensure meeting or exceeding contracted SLAs in this high-availability environment, delivering Critical Engineering and Facilities Management services.
3. Develop and maintain a professional relationship with the client to achieve positive customer outcomes.
4. Leverage this relationship to expand Data Centre Service capabilities within the account.
5. Ensure rigorous adherence to all Quality, Health & Safety standards to guarantee team safety on site.
6. Implement effective change control procedures to ensure all work meets specifications, deadlines, and budgets, with all necessary commercial agreements in place.
7. Manage the P&L for the site, providing monthly forecasts and achieving or exceeding financial targets.

1. Lead by example to meet or surpass contractual commitments.
2. Maintain a customer-focused approach in all operational activities.
3. Identify and capitalize on opportunities for strategic development to increase turnover and profitability.
4. Manage Maintenance & Engineering infrastructure effectively.
5. Take responsibility for all High Voltage activities and related operations.
6. Provide leadership, guidance, coaching, and support to develop the team’s skills and performance.
7. Contribute to management and team meetings with effective business communication.
8. Oversee governance of the account, ensuring all Service Reviews and Quarterly Business Reviews are conducted.
9. Escalate issues promptly to protect data centre services and customer relationships.
Person Specification
1. Experience or knowledge of critical and/or data centre environments in a high-availability sector.
2. Background in Maintenance & Engineering, facilities management, projects, or building services.
3. Proven leadership in delivering service excellence, empowering teams within regulatory frameworks.
4. Excellent communication skills at all levels, including C-suite client interactions.
5. Experience managing suppliers and third-party providers collaboratively.
6. Strong commercial awareness, using financial metrics to improve margins.
7. Effective influencing and negotiation skills.
8. Excellent presentation skills, adaptable to different audiences.
