Ashfield District Council have an exciting opportunity for a Housing Officer to join the team based in Kirkby-In-Ashfield. You will join us on a full time, permanent basis (37 hours per week) and in return, you will receive a competitive salary of £34,061 - £36,434 per annum (this includes amarket supplement payment of £2,000 per annum which will be reviewed on an annual basis.

Full time 37 hours, Mon - Fri. You will be required to work the office rota as and when required. This operates 8.30am to 5.00pm Monday to Thursday and 8.30am to 4.30pm on Friday
We are looking for two experienced Housing Officers to join our Housing Management Team, who provide an excellent tenancy and estate management service to our local community.
As a Housing Officer, you will manage a local patch of properties in the Ashfield district. You will deal with all aspects of tenancy and estate management including providing advice and support to sustain tenancies, working in partnership with stakeholders, and taking enforcement action when necessary.
The role involves mainly working out on our estates in the district, visiting customers in their own home, and establishing good relationships across the community. You will be responsible for managing a varied caseload, as well as the preparation of legal documentation and attendance at Court.
You must be organised and able to manage and prioritise a diverse workload with competing demands, be flexible to respond to unplanned situations and possess the problem-solving skills needed to deal with issues at pace and with accuracy.
The ideal candidate must have:
Experience of working in social housing (Council/Housing Association/Registered Social Housing) in a similar role.
Up-to-date knowledge of housing practice and current social housing issues.
Experience of working with the public and liaising with a range of stakeholders (voluntary/statutory and partner agencies).
The ability to remain calm under pressure and to manage challenging situations.
Experience of working within a team and proactively work towards joint targets.
Excellent communication skills at all levels, excellent IT Skills and be proficient in professional letter writing.
