As the largest local authority in the North‑East, this role offers an exciting opportunity to influence the development and practice of the adult social care workforce in Durham.
What is involved?
The Quality Assurance and Development Team is part of the Assurance, Development and Practice service within Adult Care, Adult and Health Services. The team has a wide range of responsibilities, including:
* Supporting effective regulatory compliance assessed by the external regulator Care Quality Commission and driving service improvement and development.
* Overseeing key governance arrangements such as the scheme of delegation, the development, review and maintenance of the service’s policy and procedures and coordinating research approval applications.
* Managing statutory and corporate complaints functions and seeking opportunities to learn and improve.
* Ensuring strong workforce planning and sustainability, and supporting the professional development of the social work workforce to meet regulatory requirements for continuing professional development and registration.
What will I need?
Required qualifications:
* Social Work Degree, DipSW, CQSW, CSS or equivalent and membership of a professional body such as Social Work England.
You will have experience in a culture of continuous improvement, engaging and collaborating with colleagues, stakeholders, a range of professionals, agencies and service users, and have advanced social work/care initiatives. You should be able to communicate clearly and effectively, tailor messages to diverse audiences, possess excellent interpersonal skills, and be able to challenge constructively, research, analyse and write concise reports. You should work on your own initiative, manage time effectively and maintain morale under pressure while motivating others and working within a team.
