Job Summary:
The Applications Engineer position will be based at our Zeeco Europe office close to Stamford in the UK. Though not necessarily essential, the successful candidate will have already had some experience working within a similar applications or engineering environment preparing multidisciplinary proposals with both technical and commercial content.
Some knowledge of fired combustion equipment or process knowledge would be considered an advantage in this role. The role will largely be office based but there will most certainly be a requirement to travel on behalf of the company meeting customers for technical / commercial discussions and negotiations mainly within the EMEAR region.
The successful candidate will be focusing on taking and evaluating customer technical enquiries and engineering specifications received for the replacement of flare tips, flare ignition systems and associated equipment and preparing competitive technical and commercial proposals that fulfil the scope of supply and meets the customer operational requirements.
Roles & Responsibilities
Primary duties include but are not limited to:
* Analyse and interpret customer enquiries, including specifications, to design and specify appropriate equipment for the application.
* Understand process design and calculations for which training will be given.
* Assist with technical development and risk assessment of customer enquiries.
* Develops cost estimates and sales budgets according to established guidelines.
* Determine drawing / documents deliverables needed for quotation and coordinate their completion.
* Prepare, edit and submit formal quotations to customer.
* Follow-up on any written or verbal correspondence with customer during quotation phase.
* Evaluate and formulate both technical and commercial responses to customer clarification questions working to secure an official purchase order.
* Post order support for project execution team preparing process data sheets and providing assistance to the draughting team as and when required.
* Provide status reports to management on overall proposal status and activities
* Assist with the creation and modification of sales presentations / documents using Microsoft Office, Excel / PowerPoint / Publisher / Adobe and all Web based systems.
* Work with management to determine updated skills and tools needed to continue improving performance and knowledge.
* Performs other duties as may be assigned that are appropriate based on skills and experience.
* Actively work towards maintaining and improving the Zeeco quality system adhering to the requirements of the ISO9001: 2015, ISO14001 and ISO45001 systems

Competencies Essential
* Minimum HND or equivalent in engineering (electrical, mechanical, chemical or related field)
* 5+ years of industry experience (i.e. sales/proposals and/or industry experience)
* Excellent communicator - verbal and written
* Excellent team player
* Resourceful, well organised, highly dependable, efficient and detail orientated.
* Confident and assertive
* Ability to use initiative and make decisions autonomously
* Self-motivated
* Good MS Office Skills - Word/Excel/PowerPoint
* Ability and willingness to make worldwide travel as and when required
