Reports to : Deputy Manager/Registered Manager
Job Overview:
To provide leadership to the care staff within the service
To provide care in accordance with current best practices, according to policy and procedures, agreed standards, legislative requirements and relevant regulations, under the direction of the Manager
To supervise the care services within the organisation in accordance with agreed standards
To maintain skills at a current level, and undertake such training and development as may, from time-to-time
Location : The service premises, but you may be required to work from other locations at the discretion of the company and with appropriate notice.
Working Hours: As agreed with the manager.
About The Role
Role Specific Duties:
The Night Team Leaders responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
* Ensure involvement from family is always sought and recorded
* Ensure service users are at the heart of the care delivery and their wishes and preferences enhance their wellbeing
* To supervise staff and ensure that all staff contribute to the efficient running of the service
* Be responsible for promoting and protecting the welfare of those individuals supported by the service
* Complete return to work meetings and work with your team member to ensure their absence is kept to a minimum
* Complete review of care plans, risk assessments
* Review and check key worker meetings are completed
* Ensure your teams training and development are always above 90%
* Participate in care reviews with stakeholders
* Complete interviews for Care Assistants
* Complete interviews for Team Leaders
* Administer medication
* Participate in rostered on-call for the service
* Complete coaching and mentoring sessions with your team members
* Ensure all documentation is completed to a high standard
* Ensure shifts are run correctly and effectively
* Participate in HR processes such as investigations, grievance meetings and others as requested where appropriate
* Complete and oversee the rota for the service ensuring that budget hours are always correct and agency is kept to a very minimum level
* Provide direct cover for the service as appropriate
* Undertake NVQ/QCF Qualification
* Complete a blended role of direct support and management
Working with Others:
* Develop effective working relationships with other employees within the service
* Work in cooperation with members of multidisciplinary teams to maximise opportunities for service users
* To establish and maintain good relationships
* To lead and motivate staff

* Carry out audits where required and maintain quality assurances required by the company
* Maintain confidentiality of information about Service users and staff in accordance with the professional Code of Conduct and relevant legislation such as Data protection

* Attend statutory training and any other training as directed by management
* Understand and follow all policies and procedures relevant to the role
