The Role:A highly reputable and specialist legal 500 law firm are seeking an experienced Paralegal to join their leading Trust and Court of Protection (TCOP) team in Sheffield. Working in a specialist department renowned for its expertise in deputyship and trust management, the successful candidate will manage a caseload of Court of Protection and private trust matters, providing holistic support to vulnerable clients and their families.This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive, client-focused practice known for its values-driven approach and long-term client relationships. The firm offers both full-time and part-time working options, with a hybrid setup that promotes work-life balance and colleague well-being.Key Responsibilities:
* Manage your own caseload of deputyships, trusts, and attorney matters
* Build and maintain strong, empathetic relationships with clients and their families
* Oversee clients' finances including property, investments, and budgets
* Liaise with financial advisors, care professionals, and other legal representatives
* Make payments, monitor income and expenditure, and ensure compliance with MCA 2005 and deputy standards
* Prepare for and follow up from client meetings and professional reviews
* Assist with investment decisions and documentation in line with trust or deputy duties
About You:
* Previous experience in Court of Protection or Trusts work preferred
* Candidates from Personal Injury or Clinical Negligence backgrounds with transferable skills also considered
* Strong communication skills and the ability to interact with clients at all levels
* Excellent organisation, time management, and case-handling skills
* Confident using Microsoft Office, legal case management systems, and document management software
