Hays Accountancy and Finance are recruiting for a Northern Ireland-born charity for the immediate appointment of a Finance Manager.

Your new role

To lead and manage the charity’s financial operations, ensuring robust financial planning,pliance, and reporting. The Finance Manager supports strategic decision-making and contributes to the overall effectiveness and sustainability of the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Management
1. Prepare monthly management accounts and variance analysis.
2. Lead annual budgeting and forecasting processes.
3. Produce statutory financial statements and liaise with auditors.
4. Oversee payroll, pensions, and financial returns to HMRC, Charitymission, andpanies House.
5. Manage cash flow, credit control, and bank reconciliations.
6. Maintain and improve financial systems and procedures.
Strategic Support
7. Provide financial insights to support strategic planning and funding applications.
8. Work with fundraising and operational teams to cost projects and monitor spend.
9. Support the CEO and Trustees with investment policy and financial risk analysis.
10. Ensurepliance with charity SORP, GDPR, and financial regulations.
11. Maintain up-to-date financial policies and procedures.
12. Lead on internal audits and financial controls.
Team Leadership
13. Line manage finance staff and oversee their development.
14. Collaborate with senior leadership and contribute to organisational planning.
Person Specification:Essential Qualifications & Experience
15. Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, ACA, CIMA).
16. Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in financial management.
17. Experience in charity finance and statutory reporting.
18. Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
Skills &petencies
19. Excellentmunication and interpersonal skills.
20. High proficiency in Excel and accounting software (, Sage).
21. Ability to explain financial information to non-financial colleagues.
22. Strong organisational and time management skills.
23. Proactive, solution-focused, and able to work independently.
Desirable
24. Experience in a small charity or voluntary sector.
25. Knowledge of charity SORP and fundraising finance.
26. Experience with HR or GDPRpliance.
