Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and skilled Specialist SEND Teacher to join our supportive and forward‑thinking primary school in Burnley. Responsibilities
* Lead on the planning, delivery, and assessment of high‑quality learning for pupils with SEND needs.
* Work closely with the SENCO, teaching assistants, and wider staff team to create personalised learning plans and interventions.
* Use a range of strategies to support pupils with diverse needs, including SEMH, ASD, communication difficulties, and specific learning needs.
* Foster positive relationships with pupils, parents, and professionals to ensure the best outcomes for each child.
* Contribute to a welcoming, inclusive, and child‑centred school culture.
Qualifications
* Enthusiastic and reflective practitioner with a strong passion for SEND education.
* Holds qualified teacher status (QTS) and has experience working with pupils with additional needs.
* Understands how to adapt teaching to meet a range of learning styles and developmental stages.
* Shows patience, creativity, resilience, and a true commitment to inclusive practice.
* Works well as part of a team and communicates effectively with colleagues and families.
