The Director of Adventure and Outdoor Experience will be responsible for co-curricular and boarding adventure activities, participating in shaping the next generation through their experiences. The role will encompass planning and facilitating activities on weekdays and weekends and fostering teamwork through team building initiatives.
Collaborating closely with staff and pupils, the post holder will promote the adventure and outdoor experience strand of the Stonyhurst education.

Job Description
The Director of Adventure reports to the Assistant Head – Co-curricular. They are part of the Adventure Team and are responsible for co-curricular and boarding adventurous activities as part of the new Adventure programme.
The list of duties on the job description below is not intended to be exhaustive. This is a one-year fixed term appointment in the first instance.
The role is four days a week (Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday) in term time and there will be an expectation of leading some trips and expeditions in the school holidays in addition.
Duties and Responsibilities
* To plan and prepare Adventure activities for day and boarding pupils on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays. These will run alongside the existing Activities Programme and Trips and Visits programme.
* To be responsible for and uphold the highest standards in health and safety and risk assessment in Adventure planning at Stonyhurst.
* To lead and facilitate activities with groups on the weekdays and weekends
* To debrief with groups after Adventure activities.
* To complete required planning and documentation in a timely, effective manner and to communicate with all relevant stakeholders in a timely and effective manner.
* To be responsible for procuring, storing and keeping gear clean, organized and in working condition.
* To plan expedition weekends in addition to those already run by the College.
* To lead training and workshops with staff and pupils.
* To communicate internally and externally with all stakeholders and to promote the Adventure strand of the Stonyhurst education.
* To facilitate and lead service projects.
* To ensure high levels of engagement and enthusiasm for Adventure at Stonyhurst. General Responsibilities
* To be available for public examination results, new staff inductions etc.
* To act in accordance GDPR regulations.
* To ensure budgetary responsibility
* To adhere to Stonyhurst operational and employment policies and procedures.
* To take responsibility for own Health & Safety and that of colleagues.
