PHPRU The Spinney is a new provision that will provide high quality assessment and teaching of reception and key stage 1 children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) amd other Special Educational Needs (SEN)
The Management Committee of PHPRU are seeking to appoint 1 full time Teaching Assistant, to join the current team at The Spinney from April (further roles will be advertised to start from September). They will be committed to, and enthusiastic about, early intervention and maximising individual potential. This post involves working alongside a range of professionals and families and therefore, requires someone with an outgoing personality, a positive outlook on life and a willingness to undertake a range of tasks.
The successful candidate will develop their skills of working with children, with a range of abilities/medical needs predominantly those with ASD
We are looking for someone, ideally, with a good understanding of our pupils' special educational needs and/or prior experience of working in education to:
1. support teachers in delivering an appropriate and outstanding curriculum
2. support young children in reception and key stage 1, who have complex special educational and health needs, both with class based activities and over lunchtime
3. be able to maintain a positive approach when faced with challenges
4. support assessment within the provision
5. participate as a team member in the operation, promotion, evaluation and development of the The Spinney and to work collaborately
6. ensure the safety and welfare of all pupils
