This is a pivotal new role for a strategic, commercially minded professional who wants to shape the future of one of WSP’s most dynamic and fast‑growing teams. A little more about your role As the Strategic Growth Lead, you will have a key position within the UK Lighting & Energy Solutions team. You’ll be responsible for driving targeted growth initiatives, strengthening WSP’s market presence, and formalising a strategic approach to business development and marketing activity. Collaborating closely with the Head of Business, the Growth Director, Group Technical Director, and senior leaders across WSP UK&I, this role also provides European and global exposure. The aim is to fully leverage WSP's Lighting and Energy Solutions capabilities, unlocking new opportunities and positioning the team as an industry leader. Key Responsibilities Strategic Growth & Business Development ⦁ Develop and deliver a targeted growth strategy aligned with the L&ES vision. ⦁ Identify and pursue new business opportunities, partnerships, and client sectors across the UK and Europe. ⦁ Support the commercialisation of European lighting initiatives alongside global leadership and key partners. Marketing & Market Positioning ⦁ Lead strategic marketing efforts in collaboration with WSP’s central marketing teams. ⦁ Enhance WSP’s industry visibility through thought leadership, events, content, and communications. ⦁ Improve market proximity and ensure L&ES has the right tools and presence to win work. Internal Collaboration & Communication ⦁ Strengthen cross‑team collaboration by coordinating internal messaging and sharing best practice. ⦁ Ensure WSP’s scale, expertise, and capabilities are communicated and leveraged effectively. ⦁ Formalise growth activity to reduce reactionary working and enable technical teams to focus on delivery. Market Insight & Strategy ⦁ Track market trends, competitor activity, and emerging technologies to inform decision‑making. ⦁ Provide insight and strategic guidance to leadership, supporting long‑term business planning. What we will be looking for you to demonstrate We’re looking for a proactive, innovative and commercially minded leader with: ⦁ Proven experience in growth strategy, business development, or marketing within the built environment, engineering, energy, or technology sectors. ⦁ Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the confidence to influence senior leaders. ⦁ The ability to develop structured, high‑impact growth plans and deliver measurable outcomes. ⦁ A passion for sustainability, intelligent infrastructure, and the future of energy and lighting systems. ⦁ A track record of raising brand visibility and driving market expansion.
