We are a multidisciplinary financial services firm specialising in estate planning, inheritance tax mitigation, and long-term wealth structuring for High Net Worth clients (HNW). We integrate legal, financial, and tax expertise to provide tailored solutions that protect wealth across generations.
As part of our growth strategy, we are bringing wills and trusts planning drafting and preparation in-house and are seeking an experienced TEP Practitioner and private client solicitor to lead this initiative.
The Opportunity
This senior role offers the potential to shape and expand a new legal function within our business. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with financial advisers and tax specialists to design and implement estate planning solutions for high-net-worth clients.
We have over 20 years of experience in this area and handle a significant number of cases monthly.
Previously, we used external providers for drafting and finalising wills and trusts. Now, we aim to bring this function in-house to ensure consistency and quality aligned with our existing structures and client advice.
The role involves setting up wills and accompanying pilot trusts.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the development of our in-house legal wills and trusts offerings
* Draft complex wills, discretionary and lifetime trusts, deeds of variation, and powers of attorney
* Provide technical guidance to financial advisers and clients
* Oversee compliance and risk management for legal outputs
* Build and manage a small, high-performing team as the service expands
* Maintain the highest standards of client care and confidentiality
Requirements
* Minimum 5 years' experience in wills, trusts, and estate planning
* Proven ability to handle complex HNW/UHNW client cases
* Strong understanding of IHT, CGT, and trust taxation issues
* Commercially minded, collaborative, and capable of working independently
* Comfortable working within a financial services environment
