Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ENP post within the A&E/Inpatient Services department at Mid Argyll Hospital. The ENP service operates 24 hours a day, working closely with local GPs who provide medical cover to the hospital and community. The ENP may act as the Senior Nurse for the A&E department and for the hospital in out-of-hours periods and in the absence of the Senior Charge Nurse. Excellent communication, prioritising and decision-making skills are essential. The ENP must ensure safe and effective clinical practice, manage and develop the performance of the team and contribute to the delivery of the organisation\'s objectives.
Mid Argyll Hospital is situated on the west coast of Scotland. It is a Community Hospital within a bustling town. Inpatient services consist of a 15 bedded GP acute ward which cares for acute admissions. The Accident and Emergency department is located in the hospital. There is also a busy Outpatient department with visiting consultants from a range of specialities. Rehabilitation services from the multi-disciplinary team are provided, as are Daycase services to provide adjunct therapies and transfusions. Mid Argyll affords great opportunities for work/life balance, with outdoor pursuits and access to nearby islands via ferry services.

Responsibilities
* Act as the Senior Nurse for the A&E department and for the hospital in out-of-hours periods and in the absence of the Senior Charge Nurse.
* Ensure safe and effective clinical practice and manage the performance of the A&E/Inpatient Services team.
* Provide leadership and contribute to the delivery of the organisation\'s objectives.
* Communicate effectively with staff, GPs and other stakeholders; demonstrate prioritising and decision-making skills.
Qualifications/Experience
* Ability to act as Senior Nurse for the A&E department and hospital out of hours; strong communication, prioritising and decision-making skills.
* Experience in A&E/Inpatient services and multi-disciplinary team working.
