To provide dental nurse support when required by the Service and to assist in the full range of dental care provided to patients of Community Dental Services.
To support the dental team in the provision of dental care in various settings across Liverpool, Knowsley, and Sefton, such as dental departments within health centres and acute hospitals.
This will include a wide range of treatments for a broad client base, including children, patients with additional needs, learning disabilities, and elderly patients.
The post is clinic-based. The post holder may be asked to undertake duties in neighboring clinics when required for holiday or sickness relief or temporary redeployment.
The post holder will participate as a key member of the dental team and other agencies to promote and maintain the dental health and wellbeing of patients. Contribute to the development of policies and services to reflect the needs of the local population.
Report and record incidents as per Trust protocols and procedures. Deliver pre- and post-operative instructions as required by the clinician. Implement accurate paper and electronic record-keeping processes as per Trust policies and procedures.
Work in partnership with other professionals to ensure patients are treated in the appropriate environment.

Other responsibilities include recording treatment details, preparing materials and instruments, maintaining infection control standards, managing medical emergencies, assisting with investigations, triaging emergency patients, managing children patients, providing instructions, maintaining equipment, assisting with treatments and procedures, communicating with departments, managing stock, participating in trials, and covering absent colleagues as needed. All staff must follow organizational policies and procedures.
