Senior Speech and Language Therapist
Location: Hillingdon Granges – predominantly at Upton Grange (Supporting other Hillingdon Granges sites from time to time)
Salary: Up to £53,200 FTE DOE plus £5,000 Welcome Bonus (one payment of £2,500 after one month and one payment of £2,500 upon completion of final probation)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8.30‑16.30 pm
Contract: Permanent (term time only, or flexible full‑time based on personal circumstances)
Responsibilities
Provide bespoke Speech and Language Therapy assessment and intervention to pupils with developmental trauma, neurodivergent, or SEMH needs. Work collaboratively with education and multidisciplinary teams, maintain a caseload under the OFG Speech and Language Therapy Ways of Working, contribute to staff training, consultation and support the development of clinical practice within an education setting.
Essential Criteria
* Undergraduate or Postgraduate degree in Speech and Language Therapy
* HCPC registered
* 1–2 years experience as a fully registered member of the RCSLT working in a similar setting
* Relevant experience engaging and working with individuals presenting with complex, diverse communication profiles
* Knowledge of neurodiversity and trauma‑informed practice
* Experience of multidisciplinary work in various settings
* Experience communicating with families, relatives and carers
* Interest in developing knowledge and skills in diverse areas of SaLT practice
* Strong relationship‑building, analytical and judgement skills
* Excellent oral and written communication skills
* Good time‑management and organisational skills
* Competence in core areas of SaLT practice and understanding of RCSLT Communication Standards
* Knowledge of assessment tools, intervention types and formulation of support plans based on needs profiles
* Knowledge of relevant legislation and its implications for clinical practice and professional management
* Ability to work collaboratively as part of the multidisciplinary team
* Willingness to attend training and work towards further qualifications relevant to the client group
* Full valid driving licence and access to own vehicle
Desirable
* Understanding of sensory and motor differences impacting communication strengths, differences and needs
* Evidence of understanding the relationship between arousal levels and communication
* Experience with ASD
