Mechanical Maintenance Fitter
Location: Coatbridge, Glasgow
Shift:
Early - Mon-Thu 6-2 and Friday 6-4pm
Late - Mon-Thu 2-10pm and Friday off
Salary: £45,000 + 20% shift allowance

Our client, a leading manufacturer operating within an Explosive Licensed Factory, is seeking a dedicated and proactive Mechanical Maintenance Fitter to join their team. The Ideal Candidate:t
Experience:
* Proven experience in a mechanical maintenance role within an industrial or manufacturing setting
* Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills
* Familiarity with hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems
Skills:
* Ability to work under pressure and maintain excellent organisational standards
* Competent in problem solving and hands-on maintenance
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* Safety-first mindset with a proactive approach
Qualifications:
* NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or HNC in Mechanical Engineering
Key Responsibilities:
* Perform planned and reactive maintenance on mechanical equipment including presses, valves, pumps, compressors, HVAC systems, motors, gearboxes, and pipework
* Support regulatory compliance checks and statutory inspections
* Diagnose faults and minimise operational downtime
* Assist in continuous improvement initiatives and equipment upgrade projects
* Maintain robust records using Safe Systems of Work including Permit to Work and Hot Works procedures
* Support auditing of mechanical maintenance activities to ensure statutory compliance
* Collaborate with process engineering and production teams on new equipment introduction
* Provide mechanical trade expertise across factory and site infrastructure
