An experienced individual will join the Division B Management team as a Care Group Manager for Specialist Medicine. This role oversees operational delivery of all services in the care group based within the Trust, ensuring safe care and effective use of resources. The post holder supports the strategic development of services to meet national performance indicators and contract specifications in line with the local health economy and delivery planning.
Specialist medicine offers both local services to the people of Southampton and southwest Hampshire and tertiary services to 3 million people across the South Coast and Channel Islands. Services include genetics, respiratory, diabetes & endocrine, DEXA, endoscopy, dermatology, rheumatology, hepatology, alcohol, gastroenterology, IBD, and managed care.

What you’ll do
* Oversee the operational delivery of all services in your care group to ensure safe care and effective use of resources.
* Hold operational management responsibility for a wide group of internal and external stakeholders, including specialty lead clinicians, matrons, and operational managers within the care group and across the Trust.
* Demonstrate ability to manage a range of challenges from project delivery to policy and finance, engaging across stakeholders and keeping the patient at the heart of all decisions.
* Lead transformation projects and support strategic development of services to align with Trust values.

Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience
Essential criteria
* Degree or equivalent experience
* Evidence of post‑qualification study or professional development to master’s level or equivalent management experience
* Relevant experience of working in an acute healthcare or equivalent setting in a senior operational delivery/management position
* Demonstrable knowledge of National and Local NHS standards
* Evidence of presenting complex information to internal and external groups clearly
* Evidence of successful management and engagement to deliver complex change
* Ability to develop and implement policy, guidelines, projects from initiation to completion
* Ability to analyse and interpret complex data to support operational decisions and KPIs
Desirable criteria
