At Pilgrims' Friend Society, we refer to those who live in our homes as "family members." Our approach to care, The Way We Care (TWWC), is highly person-centred and recognises every individual as precious and valued.
Our enthusiastic and motivated care team provides support 24 hours a day. The Care Assistant role is vital in promoting the health, safety and wellbeing of our family members while maintaining a warm and supportive environment.
Responsibilities:
* Provide high quality, professional care and support to our family members.
* Support family members with activities of daily living in accordance with their care plans.
* Assist with personal care where required and trained to do so.
* Respond to call bells, assess needs and provide appropriate assistance.
* Provide comfort and reassurance to family members during the night.
* Assist with laundry, general tidying and other domestic tasks within the home.
* Support family members with drinks, breakfasts and early morning routines.
* Ensure the building remains safe and secure during the night.
* Promote dignity, independence and choice in all aspects of care.
* Support the emotional and spiritual wellbeing of family members, especially during end of life care.
* Work in accordance with Pilgrims' Friend Society values and The Way We Care approach.

About you:
* You enjoy working with older people and have empathy and compassion for their needs.
* You are able to work as part of a team and provide a high standard of care.
* You are organised, practical and able to respond calmly to situations during the night.
* Ideally you will hold an RQF Level 2 qualification in Health & Social Care or be willing to work towards it.
* You are flexible and willing to support with domestic duties where required.
* You respect and support the Christian ethos of Pilgrims' Friend Society.
Hours:
Sleep-in shift: 3 nights per week
Sleep-in Pattern:
9:00pm - 10:30pm: Supporting evening duties including laundry, tidying communal areas and assisting residents where required.
10:30pm - 6:30am: Sleep-in period (responding to emergencies if required).
6:30am - 8:00am: Supporting morning routines including laundry, drinks, breakfast and assisting early rising family members.
