Teacher of English
Location: Caerphilly, Wales
Start Date: September 2026
Contract Type: Full-Time (Monday to Friday 8:30am to 3pm)
Pay: £172.98 to £200 per day (depending on experience.)
About the Role
You will deliver engaging and high-quality English lessons, helping pupils to develop strong skills in reading, writing, and spoken communication. You will inspire learners to engage with a wide range of texts and develop confidence in their analytical and creative writing abilities.
Requirements
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
* Ability to teach English across KS3 and KS4
* Strong subject knowledge in English Language and Literature
* Passion for literature, language, and literacy development
* Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
* Ability to inspire and motivate learners of all abilities
* Commitment to raising attainment and promoting a love of reading and writing
Desirable
* Experience teaching GCSE English Language and Literature
* Ability to teach KS5 English (not essential)
* ECT/NQT applications welcome
* Understanding of the Curriculum for Wales
Essential Safeguarding & Compliance
* Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
* Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC)
* Two professional references
