My client is a well-established civil engineering contractor delivering major infrastructure and highways schemes across the UK. With a strong reputation for quality, collaboration and long-term project delivery, they are continuing to grow and are now looking to appoint a Section Engineer - Highways to support their expanding portfolio of National Highways projects.
The role and responsibilities
In this Section Engineer - Highways role, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of highways works on a National Highways scheme in Penrith. You will be responsible for coordinating site engineering activities and ensuring works are delivered safely, on time and to specification.
You will be doing the following:
·Managing day-to-day engineering activities on site
·Supporting the planning and delivery of highways construction works
·Ensuring works are carried out in accordance with design drawings and specifications
·Coordinating with site teams, subcontractors and project managers
·Reviewing and managing technical documentation and quality records
·Supporting setting out and surveying activities where required
·Ensuring health and safety standards are maintained across the site
·Assisting with programme updates and resolving engineering issues during delivery
Must have skills and experience
To be successful in this Section Engineer - Highways position, you will ideally have:
·Experience working as a Section Engineer, Site Engineer or similar on highways projects
·Previous experience working on National Highways schemes
·Strong understanding of highways construction processes and standards
·Experience managing site engineering activities and coordinating teams
·Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
·Strong communication and organisational skills
·A relevant qualification in Civil Engineering or similar discipline
·CSCS card (or equivalent)
