From countries, to cities, to homes. On land and under the seas. Prysmian is bringing power and communications to the world. As the demand for both continues to soar and industries move steadily towards more renewable and sustainable energy sources, Transmission System Operators (TSOs) are increasingly engaged in developing, extending and upgrading their power grids.
We’re the strategic partners for our TSO customers, supporting the development and production of transmission grids, and helping to facilitate the bulk movement of electrical energy from the site of generation to electrical substations. Making innovation a cornerstone of our work, and R&D a constant investment, we offer both HVAC and HVDC cable systems for power transmission for both land and submarine connections.
Within the UK High Voltage Installation business we work with our key customers, which include the UK electricity network operators, major civil contractors and smaller IDNO and connections providers to support their needs, from supply of cables and accessories to complex turnkey contracts. Our Commercial function is at the heart of our relationship with these customers and supports customer enquiries and tenders with the aim of capturing business for the Company to achieve the Company’s sales and profit targets.
We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to join the HV Systems Commercial team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting customer enquiries and managing tenders, which can range from the simple supply of cables and accessories through to complex turnkey contracts involving civil works, cable installation, jointing works and commission testing.
Specific duties will include the following:
1. Managing the complete tender process from enquiry to tender submission through to order capture
2. Acting as single point contact for all internal and external communication on tenders
3. Determining bid tactics and pricing of offers
4. Collating technical, operational and commercial information as part of the preparation of any tender submission.
5. Evaluating options to provide optimised project solutions
6. Undertaking post tender discussions and contract negotiation with the customer
7. Tracking major projects in the UK marketplace, developing new business opportunities and long term customer relationships
Candidates will ideally be educated to degree standard in a relevant discipline. A proven ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with customers is essential, as is a strong commercial acumen. Candidates will be effective communicators who can work in a complex environment requiring the management of a busy workload to ensure that deadlines are achieved.
