About the role
We are looking for a Grounds Maintenance Charge Hand to join our Grounds Maintenance team, covering sites across East Cornwall. You will be responsible for the maintenance of Cornwall Council grounds predominantly in council run cemeteries and closed churchyards. Work to include grass cutting (continuing the implementation of Cornwall Council’s ‘Wilding’ initiative), hedge and shrub maintenance. The successful candidate will have a wealth of experience in amenity horticulture and a proven track record of delivering excellent customer service.
About you
We are looking for you to bring:
1. Pesticide Application Certificate PA – PA
2. NVQ or equivalent in Horticulture or similar discipline is desirable.
3. Recent experience of undertaking a similar role leading a small team and experience of operating grounds maintenance machinery
4. This role will involve driving on company business. In order to drive a company vehicle, drivers must hold a full valid UK driving licence Class B, Class C is desirable.
5. Self-motivation with the ability to use own initiative.
6. We appreciate someone's experience may well outweigh qualifications so please do get in touch if this is the case.
7. Experience with landscaping works is also beneficial but not essential.
