Your Role
As an Extra Care Caretaker, you will play a vital role in maintaining the safety, cleanliness, and functionality of our Extra Care scheme, located in Lancaster. You’ll be a key point of contact for tenants and contractors, helping to ensure our buildings are welcoming and well-maintained.
Some of the key aspects of the role is as follows:
* Conduct regular building inspections.
* Oversee and support the cleaning of communal areas.
* Manage orders for equipment and supplies using internal systems.
* Carry out minor repairs in communal areas and tenants’ flats.
* Liaise with colleagues and contractors, ensuring access and escorting them as needed.
* Work collaboratively with colleagues and external agencies to support tenants in managing their tenancies.
What We Are Looking For
To be successful in this role, you should have:
* The ability to use initiative and work independently.
* Experience in cleaning and general caretaking duties.
* Confidence using power tools and basic DIY equipment.
* A full driving licence and access to a vehicle would be advantageous as travel between schemes may be required, however this is not essential.
* Knowledge of Health & Safety and COSHH regulations.
* Ability to follow policies and procedures effectively.
* A positive and proactive attitude.
