AK Teaching is currently recruiting Unqualified Teaching Assistants to support a SEND provision in Alnwick. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a variety of school settings, supporting children across different age groups and abilities.
Please note: School-based experience is essential for this role. Applicants without this experience will not be considered.
However, we do have other roles available for those with no prior school-based experience.
About the Role
As an Unqualified Teaching Assistant, you will provide essential classroom support to teachers and pupils throughout the school day. Your duties may include:
1. Assisting with the delivery of lessons and classroom activities
2. Supporting pupils in small groups or on a one-to-one basis
3. Helping to manage classroom behaviour in line with school expectations
4. Offering additional help to pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) where required
5. Working flexibly across Early Years, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 as needed
6. Creating a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment for all pupils
Person Specification
We are looking for individuals who:
1. Have previous experience working in a school setting (essential)
2. Possess strong behaviour management skills
3. Are confident supporting a range of pupil needs, including those with SEN (desirable)
4. Are flexible and able to adapt to different age groups and school environments
5. Are enthusiastic, proactive, and passionate about helping children reach their full potential
6. Hold a Teaching Assistant or Childcare qualification (beneficial, but not essential)
