Your Role
As Sous Chef, you’ll play a vital part in delivering an exceptional catering service:
5. Produce nutritious, attractive meals for patients, staff, and visitors.
6. Support the Head Chef and Corporate Catering Manager in daily operations.
7. Lead and supervise the kitchen team, ensuring an efficient, high-quality service.
8. Deputise in the Head Chef’s absence, overseeing kitchen operations and staff.
9. Ensure all food safety, hygiene, and allergen standards are met and maintained.
10. Manage stock levels, ordering, and kitchen resources effectively.
11. Work closely with wards and departments to deliver a seamless service.
About You
You’ll combine technical skill with leadership and a passion for quality:
Essential:
12. City & Guilds 706/2, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
13. CIEH Level 2 Food Safety Certificate
14. Experience supervising within a busy catering environment.
15. Strong communication and organisational skills.
16. Experience in menu planning, including special diets.

Location: The Horder Centre, Crowborough
Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Shift Pattern: 5 days of 7, Monday - Sunday: Shift timings vary: 6:30am - 2:30pm I 7:00am - 3pm I 10:30am - 6:30pm
Salary: up to £27,564.00 per annum, plus enhanced rates of pay for weekend and Bank Holidays
