The role Are you passionate about driving operational excellence through continuous improvement initiatives? We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Process Engineer to join our team and play a pivotal role in enhancing quality, productivity, efficiency, and cost savings within our operation. With a flexible approach, you'll support projects, maintenance tasks, and contribute to the overall success of our organisation. The success criteria include proactively maintaining machinery to minimize downtime, ensuring successful project implementation within specified deadlines, and providing support and suggestions for improvement initiatives on-site. The key responsibilities are; 1. Process Improvement: Collaborate with relevant departments to drive continuous improvement initiatives aligned with business objectives. Implement measures to enhance quality, production capability, and reduce costs, including specification preparation, machinery upgrades, and sourcing suppliers. Support machinery installs, commissioning, and development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). 2. New Developments/Projects: Support new development projects with a focus on product manufacturability. Collaborate with project engineering and electrical process engineering teams on capital projects, including machinery installation and plant refurbishments. 3. Maintenance Support: Aid the maintenance team in breakdowns, troubleshooting, and improvement activities. Collaborate with mechanical and electrical maintenance technicians on installations and upgrades. Provide support to site labour with task specifications. Essential Technical Skills, Knowledge, and Experience: Understanding of lean six sigma or other continuous improvement methodologies. Experience in general installation tasks, including building works, electrical first fix, and mechanical installs. Hands-on skills in machinery assembly and disassembly. Methodical approach with excellent fault-finding and troubleshooting abilities. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Patience, diligence, and ability to work under pressure. Capability to coach and provide feedback. Proficiency in job planning and specification of required components.
