Job Description
A Direct Payments client in Pembrokeshire is looking to employ a Personal Assistant to support them with their care needs. The post is funded through the Direct Payments scheme, which aims to enable the client to manage their support and meet their care needs independently. The successful applicant should be friendly and supportive, work flexibly, and support the client to make their own decisions around their care needs, encouraging them to maintain independence.
Responsibilities
* Assist with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing and preparing breakfast and hot drinks. Be mindful of fatigue that may increase after personal care tasks.
* Support with domestic tasks within the home: cleaning, laundry and meal preparation, including prepping weekly meals.
* Support with day opportunities to access community to reduce isolation, shopping and visiting parent.
* Provide companionship in the employer’s home, engaging in conversation and providing social interaction.
* Ensure the client’s safety at all times during working hours.
* Carry out any other reasonable tasks requested by the employer during working hours.
* Maintain safeguarding awareness and report concerns to the relevant authority.
* Be responsible for contacting GP, Social Worker or Local Authority should the employer need medical assistance.

Other Requirements
* A full, clean driving licence and use of a car is required.
* Business use on vehicle insurance is required to use the vehicle within work hours.
