A supportive school in Lancing is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to provide targeted support for pupils who require additional help in the classroom. This role offers a rewarding opportunity to make a real impact on young learners’ educational journey.
Key Responsibilities of the Learning Support Assistant:
* Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with additional learning needs.
* Assist teachers in delivering lessons by preparing resources and adapting materials.
* Encourage pupil engagement, independence, and confidence in the classroom.
* Support behaviour management strategies to create a positive and inclusive environment.
* Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCO, and parents to ensure pupils’ progress.
Requirements for the Learning Support Assistant role:
* Previous experience in a classroom or support role is desirable.
* Knowledge of supporting children with SEN or additional needs is an advantage.
* Strong communication, empathy, and teamwork skills.
* Ability to remain patient, adaptable, and resilient.
* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils.
* Hold an enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or be willing to apply for one.
* Provide a full, up-to-date CV with explanations for any gaps in employment in the last 10 years.
