Paralegal – Community Care Team (Reading)
Full-time | Hybrid (2–3 days per week in the Reading office)
I’m recruiting on behalf of a respected law firm looking for a proactive Paralegal to join their Community Care team. This role focuses on supporting the Partner and wider team rather than fee‑earning work, though there may be opportunities to progress into a fee‑earning position based on performance.
What the firm is looking for:
* At least one year’s experience in a similar Paralegal or legal support role
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to work independently on administrative elements of files
* Empathetic, professional approach with good interpersonal skills
* Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
* Confident using Microsoft Office with good keyboard skills
* Excellent attention to detail and record‑keeping
Key responsibilities:
* Managing and maintaining accurate files, case administration and documentation
* Providing holiday cover for fee earners when needed
* Supporting the team in meeting targets and benchmarks
* Instructing agents and managing diaries
* Handling documents and assisting with billing
* Supporting with ad hoc fee‑earning tasks depending on experience
* Assisting with screening new client enquiries
