Teaching Personnel is working in partnership with a vibrant primary school in Wigan to recruit a dedicated Specialist Teaching Assistant to work closely with pupils diagnosed with ADHD, helping them develop both academically and socially. This is a rewarding role for someone who is patient, adaptable, and committed to providing positive, tailored support for pupils with additional needs. Key Responsibilities: Provide focused one-to-one and small group support for pupils with ADHD. Assist in delivering personalised learning plans and applying positive behaviour management strategies. Work closely with the class teacher to adapt and deliver engaging learning activities. Help foster a supportive, inclusive, and structured classroom environment. Monitor pupil progress and regularly report back to teaching staff and the SENCO. Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external professionals to support pupil development. Encourage pupils to build confidence, develop independence, and engage fully in school life. Support pupils during wider school activities, trips, and events when required. What We Are Looking For? Experience working with children or young people, preferably in an education or SEN setting. A good understanding of ADHD and practical strategies to support pupils with additional needs. Strong communication and relationship-building skills. A calm, patient, and compassionate approach to working with pupils. Flexibility and the ability to work effectively as part of a supportive team. Relevant qualifications or specialist SEN training (desirable but not essential).
