Here at Serco, we are looking to recruit a Religious Visitor as part of our vibrant Chaplaincy team, to contribute to a person-centred care approach, promoting hope and direction to residents and staff.
As an innovative Hindu Minister, you will provide pastoral care, ensuring the spiritual welfare of residents and staff. Responsibilities include providing faith advice, supporting faith group observances, facilitating faith-specific services, and delivering religious induction and awareness programs. You will also support chaplaincy volunteers' training and maintain your own spiritual health through prayer, study, and retreat.
You will attend chaplaincy meetings, distribute religious literature, establish relationships with support agencies, and ensure facilities are maintained. Additionally, you will contribute to multidisciplinary meetings, including Safer Custody and Security forums, to address issues like Self-Harm and Violence Reduction.
Requirements:
* Experience in delivering religious services, preferably in a custodial environment.
* High professionalism and competence in religious and pastoral leadership, including crisis management.
* Knowledge of other faiths within the centre for working in a multi-faith environment.
* Meeting faith eligibility requirements of your tradition.
* Experience in similar environments is advantageous.
This role requires 5 hours per week. Language proficiency is not mandatory; applicants with basic or no English are encouraged to apply.
This position is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and is subject to security clearance and Home Office approval.
