Primary Teaching Assistant
Prospero Teaching are working with a welcoming and inclusive Primary School based in the Southampton area that is currently recruiting a high-quality Teaching Assistant to support pupils across the school, including within their Resourced Provision for children with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
The school is committed to providing an enriching learning environment for all pupils and prides itself on its inclusive ethos. The successful candidate will work both in class and independently, delivering support to individual pupils or small groups, and will also provide lunch cover for the schools well-behaved pupils.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about education and enjoys supporting children to reach their full potential. Experience working with children with SEN is an advantage, but not essential the school values dedication, enthusiasm, and a willingness to learn.
Contract Details:
1. Location: Southampton, Hampshire
2. Position: Primary Teaching Assistant
3. Type of Work: Support role across mainstream and Resourced Provision (SEN) classes

5. Duration / Likely Duration: Temporary, 1:1 Support
6. Contract Type: Temp to Perm
7. Full Time/Part Time: Full time
8. Minimum Rate of Pay: From £ per hour
9. Hours: 8:30am 3:30pm
Experience, Training and Qualifications:
10. GCSEs or equivalent qualifications
11. Minimum 1 year of experience working with children or young people, ideally in a primary or SEN setting
12. Experience supporting pupils with additional needs (desirable)
13. A positive, proactive, and flexible approach to working with young children
14. Up-to-date safeguarding training issued in the last year (or willing to complete)
Eligibility:
15. Hold Right to Work in the UK
16. Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online Update Service or be willing to process a new application
17. Provide two professional, child-related references
