Junior Service Engineer - Fire & Security (Entry Level)

Salary: £24,000 - £30,000

I am representing an excellent opportunity on behalf of my client, who is looking to bring an enthusiastic Junior Service Engineer into the Fire & Security industry. This role is ideal for someone who is new to fire & security but has a practical background and wants strong training, development, and a long-term career path.
The Role
You will support experienced engineers with servicing and maintaining fire alarms, intruder alarms, CCTV, and access control systems. This is a hands‑on position designed to give you the grounding to become a fully qualified Service Engineer.
Training & Development Opportunities
* Full in-house training with senior engineers
* Manufacturer training on leading fire & security systems
* FIA fire alarm training modules
* IP CCTV, networking and access control courses
* Ongoing mentoring, toolbox talks, and skill development
* Clear progression into a fully qualified engineer position

Desirable Background (Not Essential)
* Electrical Improver / Electrician experience
* 1st fix or 2nd fix experience
* Pulling cables / cable routing
* Cable terminations
* PATCH PANEL / patching experience
* Knowledge of CAT5 / CAT6 and basic network infrastructure
* General data cabling experience
* Able to use hand tools and power tools confidently
* Experience with trunking, tray, conduit, and basket installations
* ECS/CSCS card
* IPAF / PASMA certifications
These backgrounds transfer extremely well into fire & security.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
* Support senior engineers with servicing and maintenance
* Assist with system testing, inspections, and compliance checks
* Help with basic fault‑finding
* Carry out cabling and installation prep as required
* Complete simple service reports
* Travel across London & surrounding areas (vehicle provided after training)
