Overview
Applications are invited for the above substantive consultant post in the Department of Neurophysiology based at the John Radcliffe Hospital, Headington, Oxford. The post is part of Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, one of the largest NHS teaching trusts with four hospitals in Headington and Banbury.

Responsibilities
* Contribute to the running of the general diagnostic clinical neurophysiological requirements of the department including EMG and EEG, video-telemetry, evoked potential, and epilepsy (including pre-surgical evaluation including intracranial recording) service in adults and children.
* Express a subspecialty interest to complement the department, with scope to undertake subspecialist activity in NCS/EMG, EEG, VT, or sleep work.
* Participate in the urgent adult and paediatric EEG reporting rota (in-hours weekday service) including prospective cover during colleagues' leave of absence.
* Performing or supervising reporting of EEG and video-telemetry, supporting clinical meetings and case discussions, and conducting EMG or other specialty clinics.
* Supervise and guide registrar and physiologists within the Neurophysiology department.
* Work with three full-time consultants and two part-time colleagues to provide a comprehensive specialist diagnostic clinical neurophysiology service for OUHFT, the Thames Valley, and beyond.
Qualifications and requirements
* Wide-ranging knowledge of clinical neurophysiology.
* A particular interest in paediatric neurophysiology is welcomed.
* Ability to participate in and support clinical meetings, case discussions, and supervision of junior staff.
* Capability to contribute to neurology-related aspects of the service and subspecialist activities as described.
Additional information
The post is primarily based in the Neurophysiology department at the John Radcliffe Hospital. There is currently no on-call commitment.
