Main purpose of the job.
Overseeing the paint shop’s performance of tasks, supporting management/supervisors and ensuring all policies and procedures are adhered to.
About The Role
Key duties and responsibilities
• Co-ordinate all ‘paint shop’ operations – including loading and unloading of parts, to meet the demands of a busy production schedule.
• Lead and manage a small team of Paint shop Operatives to meet production targets.
• Coach employees to ensure continuous improvement producing high quality workmanship.
• Adhering to all company policies and procedures including health and safety and encouraging safe working practices at all times.
• Ensure all employees within your team adhere to all policies and procedures and PPE compliance.
• Ensure employees are performing any given task in a timely manner to meet machine target hours.
• Review and sign of time sheets for your area ensuring all timesheets are completed at the end of each shift.
• Work with cross functional team to ensure continuous improvement to reach target machine labour hours.
• Ensure all regular servicing and maintenance operations are completed and documented
• Coordinate set down locations for completed painted parts and upkeep of main yard
Essential criteria, experience and Skills.
The successful candidate should have:
* Excellent computer skills are required, especially Excel and ERP systems,
* Excellent communication skills verbally and in writing, and ability to work with cross functional teams for driving improvements in the area.
* Strong technical background, and ability to work in an ever-changing and dynamic manufacturing environment
* Ability to lead a team.
* Good organisation skills.
* Experience of operating a forklift
