There is an exciting opportunity to join the award-winning Flood Risk Management Team in Lancashire. The team leads Lancashire County Council’s role as Lead Local Flood Authority (LLFA), delivering local flood risk management across the county.
We currently have a vacancy for a Flood Risk Technical Support Officer to help the county council fulfil its Lead Local Flood Authority responsibilities in managing local flood risks.
The post holder will be responsible for a range of technical tasks to support the Flood Risk Management Team's statutory responsibilities and its communications with customers and partner organisations, principally in relation to sustainable drainage systems on developments and ordinary watercourse regulation.This support will enable the team to work as efficiently and effectively as possible, and the post holder will be actively encouraged to propose and implement improvements to practices and procedures wherever opportunities are identified. The post holder will also respond to enquiries from customers, stakeholders and developers, and provide general advice internally and externally.
There will be a need to attend occasional evening appointments and engagement events outside traditional working hours.
