<div><h3>Overview</h3><p>Our Applied Science team is the hub of innovation for applied chemistry, consumer beverages, consumer health and liquid-based consumer product development.</p><p>As part of a multidisciplinary team, the successful candidate will provide critical laboratory expertise and practical support across various innovative projects.</p><p>If you have hands‑on laboratory experience and a passion for tackling diverse challenges, we encourage you to read the full job profile.</p><h3>The role</h3><p>At Cambridge Consultants, we handle multiple projects across a broad range of sectors every year, including:</p><ul><li>Industrial: Developing sensors, robotics, and logistics systems for manufacturing and retail clients</li><li>Defence: Creating secure end‑to‑end systems for government clients, covering areas like sensing, communications, tracking, location, and data analysis</li><li>Healthcare: Conducting medical device testing in compliance with ISO13485 standards</li><li>Biotech: Preparing reagents, samples, and media using aseptic techniques, supporting the needs of various project stakeholders</li><li>Consumer: Designing smart dispensing and connected sensor systems for personal care, food & beverage, and sports & fitness brands</li></ul><p>Our work spans full product development from concept to manufacturing, as well as offering consulting services on technology, innovation, and R&D processes.</p><p>As a laboratory technician, your responsibilities will include a variety of tasks such as evaluating and testing systems and devices, conducting basic wet chemistry, maintaining laboratory equipment, and providing safety training.</p><h3>Key responsibilities</h3><p>As a Laboratory Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting various projects, with responsibilities that include:</p><ul><li>General laboratory housekeeping and maintenance of a variety of facilities</li><li>Conducting daily and weekly equipment checks</li><li>Performing verification testing and evaluating systems and devices under development</li><li>Following standard operating procedures and adhering to health and safety regulations in each workspace</li><li>Accurately recording and reporting results to project team members and other stakeholders</li><li>Advising engineers on laboratory safety practices and the proper use of laboratory equipment</li><li>Participating in mechanical rig assembly and testing, as required</li><li>Providing support to wet labs by preparing stock solutions and working solutions as needed by project teams</li></ul><h3>What youll need</h3><p>To be successful in this role, youll need the following skills or experience:</p><ul><li>Proven experience working in a laboratory, test house, or within production QA processes</li><li>Proactive, self‑motivated, and able to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team</li><li>Strong ability to perform hands‑on laboratory procedures in a methodical, precise, and safe manner</li><li>Flexible and organised, with the capacity to manage multiple projects involvement simultaneously (strong multitasking skills)</li><li>Adaptable to changing project demands and requirements</li><li>Excellent teamwork skills
