The successful candidate will be responsible for representing Target’s commercial interests and providing support across the contract lifecycle.
This role is predominantly home-based, but you will be asked to attend our Newport or Cardiff offices when required.
What does the day-to-day of a Commercial Officer look like?
* Proactively building and maintaining effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
* Providing commercial guidance to accounts and opportunities you are deployed on
* Drafting and supporting the negotiation of simple commercial agreements
* Advising the business on Target’s contractual agreements
* Evaluating commercial and pricing models and recommending adjustments to protect Target’s interests
* Assessing commercial opportunities and risks to inform bids
* Generating commercial elements of tender responses
* Advising on contractual obligations flow-down to suppliers
* Applying appropriate commercial governance to all bidding activities within your area
* Performing routine contract management activities
* Supporting resolution of contractual disputes with customers, working with internal stakeholders to reach beneficial outcomes
What experience are we looking for?
* Experience in a customer-facing role involving contracts
* Experience in complex business administration activities
* Formal training in commercial and contract management
* Knowledge of drafting, interpreting contracts, proposal generation, negotiation, and contract management
* Experience in implementing and improving commercial processes and procedures
* An enthusiastic team player capable of working independently and taking initiative
* Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues
The ideal candidate will also have:

* Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
* Effective influencing skills and relationship-building abilities
* Attention to detail
* Ability to operate in complex and ambiguous situations
