Job Description:
This is a permanent role based in Kingston, Grade H, offering £20.91 per hour, with a 37-hour work week. The role involves ensuring development management decisions related to trees and landscapes comply with legislation, managing Tree Preservation Orders, and providing arboricultural advice for planning and enforcement.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Monitoring and updating the Council’s Register of Tree Preservation Orders.
2. Inspecting and advising on applications under protected tree legislation.
3. Providing technical advice on tree health, insurance claims, and high hedge complaints.
4. Ensuring compliance with arboricultural and landscape conditions attached to planning permissions.
5. Engaging with stakeholders and presenting at committee meetings and hearings.
6. Raising awareness on tree legislation and best practices.
7. Responding to arboricultural emergencies outside normal hours.
Qualifications required include a relevant landscape qualification, Arboriculture and Forestry Level 3 diploma, Lantra Tree Inspection certification, and experience in Tree Risk Assessment. A full driving license and membership in professional bodies are also required.
