As a Consultant Acute Physician, you will provide acute medical care across Medical Assessment, Short Stay, and Ambulatory Care Units, with experience in Acute or General Internal Medicine recognized by the EEC.
Your main base will be at Peterborough City Hospital, with cross-site working required.
You will be an integral part of a multidisciplinary team working collaboratively across ED, AAU/MAU, and Ambulatory Care Units, making rapid clinical decisions while maintaining high standards of patient care.
We have established innovative pathways and policies, including an upcoming Same Day Emergency Care service for rapid patient assessment and streaming.
We value flexibility to ensure a happy, effective team dedicated to excellent patient care. Roles are offered full-time and/or part-time with cross-site services.
Main duties of the job
1. The job plan will typically include 10 PAs (8.5 DCC + 1.5 SPA), with potential for additional PAs for roles such as educational supervision.
2. You will provide high-quality, safe, and compassionate care to acutely ill medical patients, enhancing their hospital experience.
3. Teaching and supervision of doctors, nurses, and students are key responsibilities, fostering a positive environment.
4. Engagement in clinical governance activities such as audits, mortality reviews, and appraisals to ensure adherence to evidence-based guidelines.
