Our client is the UK's largest underground document storage provider, operating within a repurposed salt mine beneath Cheshire. From storing precious artefacts to corporate records, their mission is to protect and preserve vital customer assets in a highly secure environment.
They have a vacancy for a Category C Driver. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe transfer of customer assets between their Cheshire based underground storage facility and locations situated around the UK.
The role is primarily a driver role with some responsibility for movement of goods within the client's Cheshire base.
Duties to include :
Drive various vehicle types – 18T & 7.5T box rigids, as well as 3.5T commercial vans.
On-time and secure delivery/collection of customer assets.
Accurate recording of handling data via the use of a PDT.
On-site operations – transfer of documents between the surface and underground facilities.
Manual handling of boxes and palletisation/wrapping, loading, and unloading of assets.
Positive representation of the business through appearance and excellent customer service.
Compliance with mandatory and company Health & Safety standards.
Compliance with transport accreditation standards (FORS and Van Excellence).
What you will need :
Relevant driving experience.
Good geographical knowledge of the UK.
Full, clean, Category C driving licence.
Comfortable working alone and with another person(s).
Effective communication skills.
Experience and willingness to drive within rural, sub-urban and urban environments.
Experience in and willingness to regularly drive long distance on national routes.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion.
