About the People We Support
You’ll be supporting one gentleman in his late 30s who requires consistent, structured support from people who are:
Strong and steady under pressure
Patient and emotionally resilient
Able to show good initiative
Confident and able to follow clear plans
Calm and reassuring during behaviours of distress
Able to bring a light-hearted, appropriate sense of humour
He is polite, engaging and curious about the world around him. He enjoys getting out and about in his car, and when possible, he loves going for walks.
He has a huge passion for cooking, especially Bangladeshi and Jewish cuisine, and enjoys learning more about their food, traditions and culture. When he’s relaxing, you’ll often find him watching a good movie at home.
This is a role for Male Support Workers who want a meaningful challenge, who can be fully present, and who genuinely want to support someone to live safely, confidently, and with dignity.
What will I be doing
You’ll be working within a structured complex-needs community setting made up of five bungalows. It is not a casual care environment — it requires:

Confidence following Positive Behaviour Support plans
The people we support have learning disabilities, autism and risk-related needs that require skilled, reliable support.
Your Responsibilities
You’ll support him to maintain stability, independence and a meaningful routine, including:
Providing reassurance and consistency
Following behaviour support plans
Supporting through behaviours of distress
Personal care (varied levels)
Medication administration
Manual handling
Cooking, cleaning and household tasks
Supporting budgeting & daily living skills
Safe community access, including walks and trips out by car
Encouraging his interest in cooking and trying new cultural dishes
This role requires someone who is observant, proactive and confident in structured environments.Full PBS training is provided, but previous experience in complex or challenging support is essential.

Shift Patterns:
Long Day Sleep-In Shifts: 9am – 9am the following dayDay Shifts: 9am - 6pmSleep-Ins: 10pm – 8am (Paid to Sleep) - You will be expected to do 1 sleep in per week.
We provide rotas at least 4 weeks in advance to support a healthy work-life balance, which we’re very passionate about!
