An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Physiotherapist to work in the Regional Plastic Surgery and Specialist Hand Physiotherapy team at North Bristol NHS Trust.
We are a friendly team committed to providing outstanding patient experience working closely with our surgical colleagues. We are looking for a Senior Physiotherapist with a Musculoskeletal or Plastic Surgery background to join the team!
The Brunel Bristol Hand & Upper Limb Centre provides high quality care in a highly specialised clinical area for the South West of England. As a dedicated Regional Centre of Excellence for Reconstructive Hand Surgery and a designated European Hand Trauma Centre, the Hand Centre offers a specialist physiotherapy service covering trauma, operative care and rehabilitation.

Job Responsibilities
 * Assess and treat referrals from all sources (GP, A&E, pain, hand and upper limb clinics), including acute, chronic and complex dysfunctions.
 * Assess patients following complex hand trauma, diagnose, set realistic rehabilitation goals, devise patient‑specific treatment programmes, monitor progress and determine final outcomes.
 * Employ specialist physiotherapy methods based on the biopsychosocial model; re‑assess and monitor progress regularly.
 * Maintain a high standard of clinical practice and pursue self‑directed clinical practice (CP).
 * Participate in audit and continuous improvement to ensure patient management meets best practice.
 * Provide in‑service training for physiotherapy colleagues, ensuring skills and knowledge are shared.
 * Maintain full and effective clinical records and internal communications in line with departmental policy.
 * Supervise, support, develop and coach staff to meet high clinical standards, skills and dexterity required for hand physiotherapy.
 * Analyse and evaluate information to identify relevant problems and improve patient care.
 * Teach patients self‑management techniques, home treatment programmes and activity modification to protect their condition.
 * Monitor and manage patient engagement, communicate progress to consultants, GPs and other parties clearly.
Person Specification
Education / Training / Qualifications
 * Degree or equivalent in physiotherapy.
 * Registered with the Health & Care Professions Council (HPC).
 * Evidence of experience in the musculoskeletal physiotherapy field.
 * Desirable: Experience in hand physiotherapy, burn and plastic surgery fields.
Work Experience
 * CPD (Continuing Professional Development) portfolio demonstrably evidence‑based practice.
 * Completion of core physiotherapy competencies as an undergraduate and evidence of experience across a variety of physiotherapy settings.
