The Clinical Matron (CM) has 24-hour accountability for quality, staff, finance and performance of their area. The Clinical Matron will be responsible for ensuring patients receive high quality, evidenced based compassionate care.

in accordance with the Trust values.
The Clinical Matron will have enhanced clinical skills and provide clinical expertise both within their own clinical environment and across the organisation as necessary to support the Organisational Strategy in the
achievement of professional, operational and clinical governance objectives. This will involve being responsible for the development and implementation of service improvement and/or policies in their area
of expertise.
The Clinical Matron will work closely with the named consultant to provide day to day professional leadership with a significant focus on improving the experience and care for patients.
Main duties of the job
* 24-hour accountability in leadership role or quality, staff, finance and performance of the ward.
* Responsible for ensuring patients receive high quality, evidenced based compassionate care.
* Lead on the complex patient assessment, requiring high level analysis and interpretation skills and the comparison of a range of options to achieve effective treatment or discharge planning.

* Up to date clinical professional registration
* Evidence of continuous professional practice and education
* Degree or equivalent level of experience

* Demonstration of Leadership or management experience and study
* Educated MSc level, completed module, or demonstrate equivalent knowledge or experience
* Advanced practice qualification
